I always had an affinity for asians, but I had no idea what God had in store!
Clarence and I met in Cambodia in 2009 when we were both serving on a ship called the MV Doulos. I traveled around Asia on the ship for a year as we sold discounted literature to deserving families who didn't have access to good books. We also spent time in the community serving others and telling them about our faith in Jesus Christ. Clarence joined the ship for a 2 month program and he was put in my work department. We quickly grew to be great friends and this friendship continued after he returned to his home in Singapore.
After my year on board, I went to serve the communications office of Wycliffe Bible Translators in Manila, Philippines. During Easter of 2010, I decided to steal away to Singapore for a few days and it was during this time our feelings for each other started to change. We officially became a couple in June...long distance. This became even more difficult after my year was up in Manila and I returned to the US in February of 2011. It wasn't long before we knew we wanted to spend the rest of our lives together and figured that would be a lot easier if we were in the same country! Clarence traveled to the US just before Christmas that year and a few weeks later on January 7, 2012, we were married. After a quick honeymoon, we returned to Singapore to start our life together.
Back in the US as of May of 2013, we are enjoying life with our three beautiful children and waiting to see what new adventures God has for us. I hope you will join us as we navigate all the crazy things involved in this unpredictable thing called LIFE.
